IMAGINATION IS MORE IMPORTANT THAN KNOWLEDGE – Albert Einstein

Storytelling is universal and is a traditional art form.  Storytelling has featured strongly in all cultures as an effective communication tool. Storytelling also plays a fundamental role in learning: Stories help children organise our varied, daily experiences, acting as a reference point to decipher the world around us.
The main objective of The Earth Junkies Project is to create awareness for the environment’s wellbeing and foster ecological citizenship among children who attend our workshops.  We will do this in the following ways:

  • Develop the first global Children’s Charter for the Rights for Mother Earth

  • Compile the first series of ‘The Adventures of the Earth Junkies’ stories along with children through storytelling workshops

  • Produce a feature-length documentary under the working title: ‘Me and Mother Earth’.

  • Leave each school with an indigenous tree that they are encouraged to take personal responsibility for.
